Learn about the history and traditions of Kwanzaa followed by an Edwardsville Unity meeting, including annual board elections.
Kwanzaa is an annual seven day celebration of African-American culture from December 26th to January 1st. Kwanzaa was first celebrated in 1966, based on African harvest festival traditions from various parts of West and Southeast Africa.
Free event, all are welcome. Donations for GlenEd Food Pantry accepted at the event.
We’re excited to announce the National Museum of African Americans on Stamps will have a display at our Kwanzaa event again this year!
